The old ceremony room, licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies, seats up to 100 guests and features character-filled details including timber rafters under a tiled roof. Fairy lights entwine the beams overhead whilst chandeliers provide elegant lighting as couples exchange their vows. The ceremony room sits just a minute’s walk from the main wedding barn, allowing for easy movement between ceremony and reception spaces.
For couples preferring outdoor ceremonies, Selden Barns offers additional licensed spaces including a beautiful garden setting surrounded by fruit trees and a stunning Sussex Oak Pergola. With a licence for civil ceremonies, you can get married in the beautiful old ceremony room before moving over to the wedding barn for an unforgettable experience. This eliminates guest transportation logistics and creates a relaxed atmosphere where the celebration flows naturally from ceremony through drinks reception to wedding breakfast and evening entertainment. The multiple ceremony spaces provide flexibility for different seasons and weather conditions.
Evening Celebrations
The venue benefits from nine Guest Bedrooms, accommodating up to 24 wedding guests, including a beautiful Newlywed Suite. Bride and grooms and guests enjoy breakfast served the following day in the Farmhouse kitchen. All guest bedrooms have their own private front door and exude a lovely fresh English Country feel, with oak floors, cream Egyptian cotton bedding with fluffy duvets and traditional furniture. They have en-suite facilities with a large shower, WC and washbasin and under-floor heating throughout.
This on-site accommodation proves particularly valuable for wedding preparations, housing the bridal party the night before and eliminating morning travel stress on the wedding day itself.

Gardens & Grounds
We have many beautiful outdoor locations for your amazing day. From the large garden area to the adjoining fields with horses and livestock. The flint walled buildings are oozing character and make fantastic backdrops for your special photo memories. The 50-acre estate provides extensive options for wedding photography beyond the immediate venue buildings.
The formal gardens, bounded by flint walls, offer structured backgrounds with established planting and architectural features. During drinks receptions, the garden areas and patio terrace allow guests to enjoy the West Sussex countryside whilst providing natural opportunities for candid photography.
