THE BARN
As you approach the wedding venue down a quiet country lane, you are greeted by a collection of Sussex flint and brick buildings as well as the main farmhouse. Entering through an iron gate beside the gatehouse, the driveway takes you past the Farmhouse and across the grounds to the front entrance of the reception barn.
As soon as you enter the barn, you are hit by the “Wow Factor”. The whole room is swathed in beautiful ivory pleated marquee drapes with swags and tails. The east wall has windows overlooking the rolling fields and woodland where horses and deer roam freely, while the integrated raised dance floor and tall central pillars exude atmosphere, creating a sense of grandeur and space.
Large chandeliers hang overhead where the sparkling light shimmers against the ivory linings that drape the barn. With over 300 square meters of interior space, the barn comfortably holds the dining area, raised dance area and bar, so that your guests always feel together.
The dining area can be configured to comfortably accommodate 70 – 230 people and all tables and chairs in the barn are supplied within the venue price.
The striking raised Dance Floor with stainless steel balustrade features two mirror balls and subtle lighting. The Luxurious Drinks Bar area has a handsome vintage mahogany counter together with a huge wall unit salvaged from a Victorian chemist shop. Set your desired mood with the controllable wall and pillar up-lighters as the day turns to evening – elegant by day and magical at night.
The picturesque gardens also make the perfect setting for pre-reception drinks.
CEREMONY
Just one minute’s walk from the wedding barn, you find the beautiful old Ceremony Room, located in a converted barn adjoining the main house. Seating up to 100 people, the Ceremony Room features timber rafters under a tiled roof.
Alternatively, you may wish to get married in our beautiful garden setting surrounded by fruit trees under our stunning Sussex Oak Pergola.
Once you have booked the date for your wedding at Selden Barns, couples must contact the registration service directly (that’s the legal requirement!) to make registrar arrangements.
The Grounds
Selden Barns Wedding Venue has many beautiful outdoor locations to record your amazing day. From the large garden area to the adjoining fields with horses and livestock. The flint walled buildings are oozing character and make fantastic backdrops for your special photo memories.
